LeanWallet

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

LeanWallet is built privacy-first. Your financial data lives on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains what is stored and when anything leaves your device.

Data stored on your device

Your accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, debts, subscriptions, net-worth entries, categories, rules and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that hold this data by default.

iCloud backup (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync/backup, a backup file is stored in your private iCloud container provided by Apple, so your data can be restored after reinstalling. It stays within your Apple account; we cannot access it.

AI features (optional)

If you enable AI features, only a compact, aggregated summary of your finances (totals and category amounts — never your individual transactions) is sent to the AI service to generate insights, and is not retained beyond processing. AI features are off unless you turn them on.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment card details.

Permissions

Camera and photo access are used only to attach receipt images you choose. Face ID/biometrics and your PIN are used locally to lock the app. Notifications are used for the reminders you enable. None of this data is sent to us.

No ads, no selling data

We do not show third-party ads and we do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

Deleting your data

You can erase all data at any time via Settings → Clear all data. Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device.

Children

LeanWallet is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
