This Privacy Policy explains how Scan Pro ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. We built Scan Pro to be an offline-first document scanner. Your scanned documents stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
Short version: Your documents, scans, and images never leave your device through us. We do not run servers that store your files. We do not require an account.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, upload, or store your scanned documents, photos, or PDF files on our servers.
We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number to use the app.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR), barcode scanning, translation, and edge detection run on-device and do not send your content to us.
2. Information Processed by Third Parties
To offer subscriptions and basic functionality, limited data is processed by trusted providers:
Purchases & Subscriptions (RevenueCat & Apple): When you buy or restore a subscription, purchase information (such as an anonymous app user ID, transaction receipts, subscription status, and device/country) is processed by RevenueCat and Apple to deliver and validate your purchase. We never receive your full payment card details.
Apple App Store: All payments are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms.
3. Device Permissions
Camera: Used only to scan documents and capture images. Images are processed locally.
Photo Library: Used to import images you choose, and to save scans if you ask.
Face ID / Biometrics: Used only to unlock the private vault on your device. Biometric data never leaves your device and is handled by the operating system.
Notifications: Used to send reminders or status updates if you enable them.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
Scanned documents, PDFs, signatures, tags, folders, settings, and your PIN (stored only as a one-way hash) are saved locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by deleting documents in the app or uninstalling the app.
5. Children's Privacy
Scan Pro is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Data Security
Documents you place in the private vault can be protected by a PIN and biometric lock, and PDFs can be encrypted with a password you set. Because data is stored on your device, keeping your device secure is important.
7. Your Rights
Since we do not hold your documents on our servers, you remain in full control of your data on your device. For purchase-related data, you may contact us or manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
